Kraków to Ivano-Frankivsk is 460 km, or roughly 8.3 hours when a typical border crossing is counted in. The route passes Tarnów, Rzeszów and Jarosław and crosses at the Krakovets–Korczowa checkpoint. You travel in a single car with a single driver throughout, from the pick-up address to the drop-off address.
The car picks you up from any address in Kraków, the airport and railway station included, and the trip starts in Poland. You pass exit control from Poland, leaving the Schengen area, and then entry control into Ukraine. There is no change of car at the border and no walk between checkpoints. The journey ends at any address in Ivano-Frankivsk.
For this route we most often use the Krakovets–Korczowa checkpoint. You first clear the exit check from Poland and, straight after it, the entry check into Ukraine. Waiting time at customs is variable and on average takes 1 to 3 hours. Our drivers have extensive experience of international trips and follow queue conditions through live cameras, so that where possible they can switch to a less busy checkpoint.
The statistics of average waiting time are shown below so you can plan the best day to travel.
We recommend planning your departure for Tuesday or Wednesday for the shortest time at the border.
Having the right set of documents is the guarantee of a quick, trouble-free customs check. Our drivers help with communication at the border and with declaring the vehicle, but passengers' personal documents are checked individually. We recommend keeping them in your hand luggage so you can show them to the border officers on request.
The main advantage of a private transfer is a flexible schedule that adapts to you. We plan restroom stops and coffee breaks every 2–3 hours at large, modern service stations. If you need one, you can always ask the driver for an extra rest stop.
Our cars offer a quiet cabin, stable climate control and the option to charge your devices on the move.
At the border, customs and border officers may check your luggage and ask you to open your suitcases, so it is best to look into the rules before you set off. Below are the main restrictions and the items that must be declared. Limits and requirements change from time to time, so check the official customs websites before you travel.
Strictly prohibited to bring into the EU:
Meat and dairy products (including cheese and sausages), weapons, prescription medicines without a doctor's prescription, alcohol above the limit (more than 1 L of spirits) and cigarettes (more than 2 packs).
Subject to declaration:
Cash above €10,000, works of art (an export permit is required) and specialised equipment.
We are glad to carry passengers with pets. Cats, small and medium-sized dogs and birds in cages may travel in the cabin. The animal must be in a special carrier, or on the back seat with a car harness.
There is no surcharge for a pet — but let us know when booking so the driver can prepare the cabin.
To cross the border with a pet you need:
The essentials in brief. The rest of the answers are on the FAQ page.
The distance is about 460 km and the ride usually takes 8 h 20 min. Traffic and, on cross-border routes, the queue at the checkpoint can change that, so the driver leaves with a margin for your flight or train.
The price is worked out for your route, car and party and fixed when the booking is confirmed. After that, traffic, detours, weather or the number of suitcases do not change it. No prepayment: you pay after the ride.
At any address: home, hotel, station or airport. At the airport the driver waits in arrivals with a name sign and tracks your flight; waiting after landing has no time limit and is free.
Yes, transfers run around the clock. For early flights book in advance — the driver arrives at the agreed time.
Child seats and boosters are free — give the child's age when booking. Luggage depends on the car: each car's capacity is listed in the fleet, and the minivan takes large luggage.
Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before pickup. Cancel in your account or by messaging the dispatcher.
