Kyiv–Chełm Train Named After Mykhailo Hrushevskyi
The flagship train No. 23/24 Kyiv–Chełm has been named after Mykhailo Hrushevskyi, the Ukrainian historian and chairman of the Central Rada of Ukraine.
The name has symbolic significance: Hrushevskyi was born in Chełm, Poland, and worked in Kyiv for almost 20 years. Under his leadership, the Central Rada adopted the Fourth Universal, proclaiming the independence of the Ukrainian People’s Republic.
The flagship service will feature modern, high-comfort carriages manufactured in Ukraine during the full-scale war. The train’s departure will be accompanied by “Our Time Has Come”, a composition by the Ukrainian creative collective MUR dedicated to Ukraine’s struggle for independence.
